Meeting Minutes: July 13, 2010

Charlotte Gonzalez of Beech Bend Raceway and Park gave us a tour of the newly added water park area including the wave pool, lazy river, and water playground for children. They were having the state inspector go through that week with hopes of opening after his approval. The project was delayed due to the May flooding which washed away much of their equipment and materials for it, in addition to other parts of the park that were not under construction.
Call to Order:
Nicole Hehnen called the meeting to order and thanked Charlotte and the staff of Beech Bend for their hospitality.

Treasurer’s Report:
Joy Jolly announced that there was still one more hotel with outstanding dues.
Attraction’s Reports:
National Corvette Museum
Katie Frassinelli, Marketing Director for the NCM, reported that they are developing packages to be promoted to regional airports. They are having an exhibit on the Chevy Camaro in the museum from Oct 1st through January. They will be having a Camaro event on Oct 23rd.
CVB Report:
Vicki Fitch reported that the NHRA Reunion held in June 2011 will change to a three day format, giving hoteliers one more additional night to sell out for the event. Fitch also announced that the Mammoth Cave Travel Info Center will be open 7 days a week through August, and partially open during the Fall and Winter months. Fitch spoke on behalf of Sports Sales Director, Amy Cardwell, announcing the disc golf course being installed at the Bowling Green Technical College. Fitch spoke on behalf of Duncan Hines to announce the Pontiac Oakland Club group for July of 2011.
